In this video clip Patrick takes us through how OneNote Class Notebook can be used to consolidate and extend learning in and beyond the classroom by enhancing opportunities for independent learning and teacher feedback.

Key learning

Learning without Limits

OneNote Class Notebook is a versatile learning and teaching app that is integrated into Microsoft Teams. It provides the teacher with the digital space to share resources and handouts as well as a digital whiteboard that captures the learning that takes place in the classroom, allowing pupils to revisit the learning that has taken place.

The pupil section allows pupils to have a digital space to showcase their learning and to build up a portfolio of work that maps their progression in learning.

The digital inking, voice recording and full integration with Teams Assignments, allows teachers to give enhanced feedback on pupil work and to be able to build up a fuller picture of where each learner is on their learning journey and how best to enable further progression

Points to consider

  • Class Notebook is a feature integrated into Microsoft Teams and offers one of the strongest learning and teaching tools for teachers and pupils.

  • Class Notebook is a cross-over between a pupil’s digital Lever-Arch file, a digital whiteboard and an accessible way to share differentiated resources and support for all pupils.

  • Pupil feedback is made more meaningful – a piece of work can be reviewed and returned quickly, enabling pupils to redraft and enhance their work.

  • Class Notebook builds on the digital skills used in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Teachers using Microsoft Office already have the digital skills to enhance learning and teaching through OneNote: Class Notebook
