“Coming Back Together Again”: Supporting Pupils Presenting with Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Well-Being Needs

Audience: Pre-School and Primary, Teachers, Classroom Assistants and SENCOs.

Time Commitment: Two sessions of 45 mins each.

This two part webinar has been developed by Primary Behaviour Support & Provisions to provide advice to school staff on support strategies for pupils presenting with Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Well-Being Needs (SBEW) following the periods of Covid 19 Lockdowns.

  • An introduction to understanding SBEW needs following uncertainty and change.

  • How to promote a trauma sensitive approach.

  • An introduction to calming strategies.

  • How to reduce anxiety in the classroom.

Session 2:

  • An introduction to a range of strategies to reduce anxiety and promote emotional regulation.

  • The Trauma Informed Classroom.

  • The use of positive language.

  • Emotional health and well-being.

  • Signposting to useful resources.
